LONDON, May 18 (UPI) -- BBC's "EastEnders" actress Elaine Lordan told police that she was punched and kicked at a north London pub, it was reported Tuesday.

The alleged attack occurred Sunday in Highbury, the BBC said, when an unknown woman attacked the actress who plays Lynn Slater on the BBC One drama.

"I'd never met her in my life," Lordan said of her attacker. "She slapped me across the head. She had a ring on which cut my lip. She knocked me to the ground.

"She was boasting, saying, 'I've beaten up Lynne Slater off the telly.'"

Lordan, reportedly three months pregnant, suffered a swollen lip.

The actress, who has a history of alcohol abuse, was convicted last October of drunken driving, BBC said.

Lordan reportedly will leave the show when her contract expires this summer.
