LOS ANGELES, May 17 (UPI) -- Hollywood heavyweight Sylvester Stallone is suing the producers of a planned boxing reality show called "The Real Rocky."

Stallone, who is producing his own boxing show called "The Contender" for NBC, has sued MGM Pictures Inc., United Artists Pictures and Chartoff-Winkler Productions for fraud, negligent misrepresentation, unfair competition and other claims, The Hollywood Reporter said Monday.

Stallone sued the "Real Rocky" producers for allegedly improperly associating the series with "Rocky," the fictional Philadelphia boxer Stallone created and played in five films.

Stallone also claims the defendants interfered with his efforts to produce a "Rocky" musical and a sixth installment of the "Rocky" feature franchise, the trade paper said.
