'The Passion' coming to DVD Aug. 31

LOS ANGELES, May 11 (UPI) -- Icon Productions has set Aug. 31 as the release date of the DVD version of Mel Gibson's biblical blockbuster, "The Passion of the Christ."

The World Entertainment News Network said a news release announcing the release date offered few details other than it will be available with either English or Spanish subtitles and priced at $29.98 for DVD and $24.98 for VHS.

There was no mention of any DVD "extras" that may be included in the package, although Video Store magazine reported "customized church sleeves" will be available for bulk orders from churches and directed those who are interested in selling it at churches to contact the Christian Booksellers Association, WENN said.
