MTV 'Apprentice' spoof to air this summer

LOS ANGELES, May 7 (UPI) -- The U.S. cable TV network MTV is planning to air eight episodes of "The Assistant," a parody of "The Apprentice," starring Andy Dick.

Contestants on "The Assistant" will compete in a series of bizarre challenges for a job at a Hollywood production company and a new car, Variety reported Friday.

MTV and Dick last partnered for the sketch-comedy series, "The Andy Dick Show," which ran for two seasons on the channel.

Production on the new show wrapped last week in Los Angeles and episodes are expected to air this summer.
