LOS ANGELES, May 4 (UPI) -- Bob Dylan has reportedly said he wants to be a judge next season on the popular Fox network show, "American Idol."

Dylan's people reportedly have contacted the powers-that-be at "American Idol" with the request, the New York Post reported Tuesday.

"American Idol" executive also allegedly have asked Paul McCartney to guest judge on the series.

If Dylan appears on "American Idol," it will mark his second recent foray into TV land.

Dylan currently appears in a ad for "Victoria's Secret," ogling a scantily-clad model while his song "Love Sick" plays in the background.

"American Idol," now in its third season, averages more than 20 million viewers per episode. Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka, Gladys Knight and Gloria Estefan are among the celebrities who have done guest turns as judges on the series.
