'Friends' parties planned in NY, Calif.

NEW YORK, May 3 (UPI) -- Huge parties are being planned in New York and California to mark the end of the 10-year run of "Friends" on U.S. television.

In conjunction with New York's popular Tribeca Film Festival, fans have been invited to watch the series finale Thursday on a giant drive-in-movie screen.

NBC4, Universal CityWalk, and Clear Channel of Los Angeles said they are also throwing a bash, with plans to broadcast the hour-long episode on Southern California's largest outdoor Astrovision screen at Universal CityWalk.

THE New York Daily News said highlights of the evening are expected to include an array of "Friends" trivia questions and the distribution of the exclusive "Friends Party Pack," featuring a DVD, CD, Central Perk coffee, coffee coasters, Monica Recipe Cards and a "Friends" trivia game.

About 85 million people are expected to watch the last show Thursday, said the Daily News.
