SALT LAKE CITY, April 23 (UPI) -- Country music star Jo Dee Messina is being treated for alcoholism at a Utah rehabilitation facility, Billboard.com said Friday.

Mike Curb, chairman of Messina's label, Curb Records, told Billboard, "Jo Dee has more drive and passion than anyone I can think of and she's dealt with several challenges in the past.

"I'm sure she will draw upon the same strength and determination that sustained (her) before to get through this difficult period," Curb said. "She's a gifted performer and nothing is going to stop her from pursuing her music."

According to her official Web site, Messina is scheduled to resume touring May 30 in Marksville, La.
