LOS ANGELES, April 23 (UPI) -- U.S. sit-com star Flex Alexander is set to play Michael Jackson in VH1's upcoming biography of the pop star, The Hollywood Reporter said Friday.

The star of the UPN comedy "One on One" will join "Reversible Errors" actor Eugene Clark, who will play Jackson's bodyguard and confidant, the trade paper noted.

Alexander's experience as a dancer reportedly helped him land the lead role in the film tentatively called "Family Values."

The movie is expected to trace Jackson's life from his Motown heyday to his fall from grace as an accused child molester.

In addition to VH1, the film also will air on Canadian channels the Movie Network and Movie Central.
