Rapper T.I. held on parole violation

ATLANTA, April 20 (UPI) -- Rapper Clifford "T.I." Harris was in a Georgia jail Tuesday after allegedly violating his probation following a drug conviction, MTV reported.

The 23-year-old emcee is on probation for a 1997 arrest and subsequent conviction for distribution of cocaine, manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance, and giving authorities a false name, a sheriff's department spokesperson told MTV.

T.I served a sentence of undisclosed length and was released on probation.

What he did to violate the terms of his release has not been made public, but it's the second time he has been accused of violating probation. That means a judge could revoke the terms of his probation and reinstate his original sentence, MTV said.

Two warrants were also issued for his arrest in nearby Atlanta last month: one for possession of a firearm and one for possession of ecstasy.
