Tarantino to judge 'American Idol'

LOS ANGELES, April 9 (UPI) -- Hollywood filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has agreed to be a guest judge on the U.S. television reality show, "American Idol," Zap2it.com reported Friday.

The "Kill Bill" auteur will appear on the show's "Movie Theme Night" Tuesday, joining Randy Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell on the judging panel as the remaining eight finalists perform songs from their favorite films.

An "Idol" fan, Tarantino appeared in the studio audience last May.

Tarantino's eagerly awaited sequel, "Kill Bill, Volume 2," opens next Friday.
