NEW YORK, April 5 (UPI) -- A new documentary series follows actress Gina Gershon on a U.S. concert tour to support her new film "Prey for Rock & Roll."
Best-known for her performance in "Bound," "Showgirls" "Demonlover," and "Face/Off," Gershon's role as a struggling musician in "Prey for Rock & Roll" inspired her to form her own band and hit the road, the Independent Film Channel reported.
"When we were doing the movie and I was in the recording studio, I just kept thinking, 'What have I been doing all these years?'" Gershon said of her new-found passion for music.
Gershon's concert tour has been captured in "Rocked with Gina Gershon," a six-part series set to premiere Friday on the IFC.
Many of Gershon's celebrity friends -- including Denis Leary, Drea De Matteo, Priscilla Presley, Penny Marshall, Nicolas Cage, Adrien Brody and Joaquin Phoenix -- are also spotted taking in her shows.
