LOS ANGELES, April 5 (UPI) -- The U.S. TV classic "The Dick Van Dyke Show" is set to return to television, picking up the story line where it left off 40 years ago.

CBS has billed the show "The 159th Episode," the New York Post reported Monday, in a nod to continuing the show's characters and stories from the popular 1960s series starring Dick Van Dyke and Mary Tyler Moore.

Van Dyke will return in the role of Rob Petrie, a comedy writer, with Moore reprising her role as wife Laura Petrie.

In the new episode, Alan Brady, played by Carl Reiner, asks his writers, to write his eulogy before he dies, but Brady wants the chance to do a rewrite.

All of the surviving cast members have signed on to return to the show.
