LOS ANGELES, April 3 (UPI) -- The daughter of rock star Ozzy Osbourne and talk show host Sharon Osbourne has entered a California drug rehabilitation clinic for abusing painkillers.

Nineteen-year-old singer Kelly Osbourne, who had three British chart hit singles including "Papa Don't Preach," entered the Promises rehabilitation center in Malibu, Calif., Friday following published claims about her drug use, the BBC reported Saturday.

Her parents had been scheduled to promote the third series of "The Osbournes" on cable's MTV on CNN's "Larry King Live," but they discussed their daughter's drug problem instead.

"She admitted it after a lot of twisting," said Sharon Osbourne.

"The amount of pills I found in her bag was astounding," said Ozzy Osbourne, who said he asked his daughter several time if she was abusing drugs. "I can't believe we were buying into it."

The Osbournes' son was treated for substance abuse last year.
