GLASTONBURY, Scotland, April 2 (UPI) -- More than 100,000 tickets have been sold for this year's Glastonbury Festival through a new secure ticketing system, the BBC reported.

According to the new system, only one agency is selling tickets and only a pair of tickets can be bought at a time. Tickets will also contained the buyer's name and identification will be checked at the gate.

BBC News Online said it has been flooded with e-mails from people frustrated because they were unable to obtain tickets online or by phone.

Only 112,000 tickets are available for the musical event, featuring performances by Paul McCartney and Oasis.

Event organizer Michael Eavis said the agency Aloud is simply unable to cope with the demand, adding: "Just too many people want to come. It's very difficult for all of it to run smoothly."

Aloud said it "can only apologize" to those who have failed to get through, and urged them to be patient and keep trying.
