Smits to star in 'Much Ado About Nothing'

NEW YORK, March 30 (UPI) -- Jimmy Smits and Kirsten Johnston have signed on to play bickering lovers Benedick and Beatrice in a New York production of "Much Ado About Nothing."

Smits and Johnston have agreed to star in the production of Shakespeare's classic comedy in Central Park's Delacorte Theatre this summer, Playbill Online said Tuesday.

The former television stars also appeared together in the 2002 park production of the bard's "Twelfth Night."

Sam Waterston and his daughter Elizabeth are set to co-star.
