Suvari will play Joanne, an upper-crust opinionated socialite, the Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.

The story centers on a beauty shop run by Gina, the role played by Latifah, where there is more talking than trimming.

Silverstone will play the only white employee; Hounsou will play the leading man.

Latifah is producing the film with partner Shakim Compere, Mandeville's David Hoberman and State Street (NYSE:STT) partners Robert Teitel and George Tillman.

Suvari's recent credits include "Trauma," "Closing the Ring," "Living and Breathing" and "Standing Still."
