LAS VEGAS, March 25 (UPI) -- "Spider-Man" stars Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst have signed up to reprise their roles in a third "Spider-Man" film, due out in 2007.
Sony Pictures vice chairman Jeff Blake showed a new trailer for the upcoming film "Spider-Man 2" Wednesday night in Las vegas and confirmed speculation that a "Spider-Man 3" is, indeed, in the works, Screen Daily reported Thursday.
Set to arrive in U.S. theaters on May 4, 2007, the film will be directed by "Spider-Man" veteran Sam Raimi.
Blake and Amy Pascal, the chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment, motion picture group, introduced the presentation to an audience that included Raimi, Maguire, Dunst and producers Laura Ziskin and Avi Arad.
Blake also announced "Spider-Man 2" would open two days earlier than previously announced on June 30, a Wednesday, to give the film a full five-day opening weekend.
