NEW YORK, March 24 (UPI) -- Donald Trump has no kind words for Mario Cuomo, calling the former New York governor "disloyal" and a "total stiff" in "Trump: How To Get Rich."
Trump's unfavorable assessment of Cuomo stems from a special request that was denied Trump when Cuomo's son, Andrew, held a position at the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the New York Daily News reported Wednesday.
Trump, who did not say what the favor was, wrote that Cuomo is "a total stiff, a lousy governor and a disloyal former friend. Now, whenever I see Mario at a dinner, I refuse to acknowledge him, talk to him, or even look at him."
Trump also wrote: "Mario's wife, Matilda, is a fine woman and was a terrific friend to my mother. It's not her fault that her husband is a loser."
Cuomo agrees with part of Trump's assessment.
"Trump's accurate when he says I said no to the favor," Cuomo told the Daily News. "And he's dead right about Matilda being a fine woman."
