Foley to host 'Celebrity Poker'

BURBANK, Calif., March 22 (UPI) -- Comic actor Dave Foley has signed on as the new host of the U.S. reality series, "Celebrity Poker Showdown," the Bravo network announced.

The new 12-episode season will feature Foley, along with returning expert commentator, poker champion Phil Gordon.

Season two will premiere in the spring with a new two-hour game format.

"I am excited to be working with Bravo and 'Celebrity Poker,'" Foley said in a statement. "I wanted to be on 'Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,' but apparently I did not meet the requirements for either category."

Currently seen on NBC's hit comedy "Will & Grace," Foley is best-known for his role as the beleaguered news director Dave Nelson on the NBC sit-com "NewsRadio" and as a founding member of the Canadian sketch comedy group "The Kids in the Hall."

The second season of "Celebrity Poker Showdown" will be much like the first, however it will consist of two separate tournaments of 25 celebrities.

Each week, five stars of television, film, music and sports will compete against each other for a piece of the $250,000 prize pool in a game of No Limit Texas Hold'em poker game for the charity of their choice.
