NEW YORK, March 17 (UPI) -- "Brando," a new, darkly comedic play to be performed at The Irish Arts Center in New York, features eccentric screen legend Marlon Brando as a character.
The Audax Theater Group said it is set to begin performances of Daniel Roberts' new play on April 1.
Having just returned from their honeymoon, a tense and sexually disastrous safari in Africa, Butler and Laurel find themselves the recipients of a bizarre wedding gift -- a post-modern sculpture in the form of a working telephone. When the phone rings, it is Marlon Brando, dark and brooding, calling from his seaside lair.
After many conversations with the off-beat actor, Laurel disappears, prompting Butler to suspect the aging film icon has kidnapped his wife. Butler then realizes he must find the courage to seek Brando out, confront him and rescue Laurel.
