Reality TV show on jail bites the dust

FORT WORTH, Texas, March 15 (UPI) -- It looks like a planned MTV reality show about prison life in Fort Worth, Texas, isn't going to happen.

"It's in total limbo," Sheriff Dee Anderson said in the Fort Worth Star Telegram Monday. "I don't anticipate it happening now, with this length of time going by and no movement on it, but stranger things have happened."

The producer of the proposed series, Endemol Entertainment, spent about two weeks videotaping at the Tarrant County Jail last fall, but there hasn't been a peep from Endemol for months.

The Star Telegram said it contacted an executive producer for Endemol, but she didn't call the newspaper back.

Endemol, which produced "Fear Factor" and "Big Brother," had said the jail show could deter young people from criminal activities by showing them life behind bars.
