NEW YORK, March 12 (UPI) -- Two generations of Detroit's famous rockers will converge Monday when Kid Rock inducts legend Bob Seger into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in New York.
"I'm going to shoot from the heart, and make this fun for his fans, his friends, his family, his band," Kid Rock said in Friday's Detroit Free Press.
"I want to reiterate what he did with his music, not only making Michigan and Detroit proud, but his friends and family, because this is really special for him," Rock said.
Seger, who ruled the late 1970s and early 1980s with classics such as "Night Moves" and "Against the Wind," is set to sing during the event, his first public performance in eight years. Rumor is that Seger will perform "Turn the Page" with his Silver Bullet Band.
Seger will be inducted into the Hall of Fame with Prince, Jackson Browne, ZZ Top, Traffic, the Dells and the late George Harrison.
The ceremony will air March 21 on VH-1.
