WASHINGTON, March 12 (UPI) -- The Federal Communications Commission wants to fine broadcast giant Clear Channel $247,500 for sexually explicit content at a Washington station.
The FCC has proposed fining the company for a broadcast of the "Elliot in the Morning" show aired on WWDC-FM and then rebroadcast on three different stations.
During the March 13, 2003, show, as the hosts celebrated the 50th birthday of porn star Ron Jeremy, a female caller described in explicit detail which of Jeremy's sexual techniques excited her the most and how that technique affected her.
By the FCC's count there were nine alleged violations "that involved graphic and explicit sexual material, and were designed to pander to, titillate and shock listeners."
The FCC proposed the maximum fine of $27,500 per incident.
