Adapted from Ursula K. Le Guin's award-winning "Earthsea" novels, the epic fantasy tells the tale of a reckless youth destined to become a great sorcerer in the mystical land of Earthsea.

When the young wizard Ged discovers he possesses infinite magical powers, he seeks to master the ancient arts. As he journeys to manhood, he combats dragons, rescues a princess, falls in love, crosses death's threshold, and ultimately wields the power to reunite a kingdom.

Le Guin has received numerous awards, including five Hugo Awards, Five Nebula Awards and the National Book Award. The "Earthsea" books have been translated into 16 languages, with millions of copies in print.

Rossellini is best-known for her roles in the films "Blue Velvet," "Death Becomes Her," "Immortal Beloved," "The Funeral" and "Rodger Dodger."
