Larry David does 'Producers' on HBO show

NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) -- The season finale of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" on HBO will feature star Larry David as Max Bialystock in a faux Broadway production of "The Producers."

Guest star David Schwimmer, Ross from "Friends," will play Leo Bloom, Playbill said Wednesday.

The "Producers" storyline on "Curb Your Enthusiasm" began on the season premiere, which found David running into the musical's creator, Mel Brooks, in a bathroom.

One thing led to another on the show and Brooks eventually offered David the role of Max opposite Ben Stiller's Leo.

Stiller appeared on the comedy several times before backing out of the fictional project and Schwimmer was hired as his replacement.

The season finale of "Curb Your Enthusiasm" is scheduled to air March 14.
