LAKEVILLE, Pa., March 8 (UPI) -- Country singer Randy Travis was involved in an accident Sunday when the road gave out beneath his 25-ton tour bus in Pennsylvania's Pocono Mountains.

Travis, who was en route to perform at Caesar's Pocono Resort, was uninjured, as were his wife and manager, Elizabeth Travis, and tour manager Jeff Davis.

Davis was driving along Route 590 when the road gave out, pitching the customized tour bus into a ditch. Local residents shoveled mud away from the bus doors so the people aboard could get out of the vehicle. Two tow trucks worked for more than four hours to pull the bus from mud-filled ditch.

"We want to thank all the folks who helped us out," Travis said in a statement from his Nashville office. "When we planned to release our new single, 'Raise Him Up,' this week, this was not what we had in mind."

"Raise Him Up" from Travis' "Rise & Shine" gospel CD will be released Tuesday.
