Six one-hour episodes have been ordered of the first-person account detailing the events of their upcoming 20,000-mile ride.

Bravo President Jeff Gaspin said in a statement: "`Long Way Round' will offer viewers a unique point of view of the world through the eyes and voices of these two talented and daring individuals. It's a perfect fit for Bravo."

McGregor and Boorman will begin their journey in late April, starting in London and are expected to arrive at their final destination -- New York City -- by the end of July.

The journey will be made by motorbike, with one trip each by train, plane and boat to get them across the seas.

Both men will undergo training in a variety of areas including self-defense, first aid, and hostile environment training from former British special forces soldiers.

McGregor is best-known for his movie roles in "Moulin Rouge," the "Star Wars" trilogy and "Big Fish." Boorman, son of famed director John Boorman, has appeared in "Deliverance," "Excalibur," "The Serpent's Kiss," and "The Emerald Forest."
