Drew Carey mad at NBC's 'Comic' rules

LOS ANGELES, March 8 (UPI) -- Comedian Drew Carey, a judge for NBC's "Last Comic Standing," is outraged producers have ignored the judges' votes in casting the U.S. reality show.

The celebrity judges, which included Carey, Brett Butler and Anthony Clark, realized after narrowing the contestants to the final 10, their top vote-getter had been axed by producers while a dud had been added to the final list, Monday's Daily Variety reported.

"Brett walked out and Anthony ripped his mic off in disgust," Carey said. "... As far as I knew we'd be judges to see who would go into (the show). Turns out we're not ... It just seems like such a travesty."

Carey complained, but producers told him that a disclaimer ran at the end of the show saying that producers have the final say on gets to stay and who is out.

"Last Comic Standing" debuted last summer on NBC, with the second "Last Comic Standing" set to air this summer.
