Jeff Bridges opens photography show in NYC

NEW YORK, March 6 (UPI) -- Actor Jeff Bridges, who appears both in front of the camera and behind it, has a one-man show of photography that opened Saturday in New York City.

More than two dozen black-and-white photographs that Bridges shot over the past decade on the sets of "Seabiscuit," "The Fisher King" and "The Big Lebowski" are on view at the Meyerowitz Gallery in Manhattan until April 6, the New York Post reported.

His artsy photos include Peter Bogdanovich, Bob Dylan, Barbra Streisand and Robin Williams.

Bridges said he's been taking photos since high school but didn't get back to it seriously until 1976, when in a remake of "King Kong" he played a character named Jack Prescott who happened to carry a motor-driven Nikon.

"In preparation for the role, I started taking pictures again," Bridges said.

Using a Wide-Lux camera, Bridges has been taking photographs in his movie sets ever since. Some of the photographs on display in New York can be seen on his Web site Jeffbridges.com.
