ORLANDO, Fla., March 3 (UPI) -- The Walt Disney Co. pulled a Mickey Mouse statue designed by Janet Jackson for a shareholder meeting in Philadelphia Wednesday.
Among the commemorative activities for Mickey Mouse's 75th anniversary was getting celebrities and artists to personalize 75 6-foot tall statues of Mickey, the Orlando Sentinel reported Wednesday.
The House of the Mouse, however, apparently balked in the wake of Jackson's Super Bowl halftime breast-baring incident and pulled her Mickey, which was wearing her 1990 "Rhythm Nation" costume, the Sentinel said. The statue was replaced with a standby designed by a Disney in-house artist.
Other participating celebs included Rosie O'Donnell, Andy Garcia and James Gandolfini.
