LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Rob Lowe has been been tapped to star in a CBS' drama pilot, "Dr. Vegas," about a Las Vegas casino in-house physician.

Lowe starred in the short-lived NBC drama "The Lyon's Den" last year, after his four-season stint on the NBC drama "The West Wing" which earned him one Emmy and two Golden Globe nominations, the Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

In other television pilot announcements, Alex Desert, who most recently co-starred on the CBS comedy "Becker," has joined the cast of ABC's drama "Harry Green and Eugene," which centers on Los Angeles private detective Harry Green, played by Mark Valley, and his inept brother, Eugene.

John Cho has been tapped as a lead in NBC's comedy pilot, "The Men's Room," which is about three men in different stages of their lives.

John Patrick Stewart and Josie Davis have joined the cast of ABC's yet untitled Jennifer Love Hewitt comedy pilot about a single mom who works as a television sports reporter.

Cameron Richardson and Brent Weber have been named to Fox's drama pilot "Point Pleasant."
