LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Ralph Andrews, a 76-year-old game show producer has filed a lawsuit in California claiming Dick Clark, who is 74, did not hire Andrews because of his age.
Andrews, known as the producer of game shows such as "It Takes Two," "By the Numbers" and "You Don't Say," filed the age discrimination suit in Superior Court in Santa Monica, Calif., KNBC-TV's Web site reported Tuesday.
According to the suit, when Andrews wrote Clark, saying he would take any job that Clark might have, Clark, known as "America's Oldest Teenager," wrote back, telling Andrews he was too old for any jobs at his company.
According to the lawsuit, Clark's letter allegedly read: "It was good to hear from you, Ralph. This is a tough letter to write. I have great respect and admiration for your accomplishments, and wish you success in your desire to get back to work.' (But) the last development guy we hired was 27 years old. Another person who is joining our staff next week is 30. People our age are considered dinosaurs! The business is being run by The Next Generation.'"
