Simpson, Lachey seek book deal

Married U.S. pop stars Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey are shopping around a book proposal for a marriage guide, The Smoking Gun Web site reported.

The stars of MTV's hit reality series "Newlyweds" are circulating a 28-page book proposal for "Jessica Simpson & Nick Lachey's Secrets for a Happy (and Sexy!) Marriage" to various publishers.

"Now that I am 23, I realize that I cannot help feed every hungry kid or find every lost one," Simpson wrote in the proposal. "However, there is one way that I know I can help people: by sharing the secrets of my successful marriage."

Simpson and Lachey were married in October 2002.
