LOS ANGELES, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Papers filed in a Los Angeles court claim Paris Hilton, not co-star Rick Salomon, owns the copyright to her sex video because she was the director.
The documents were filed Monday by Marvad, the porn company that has been selling the kinky video on the Internet, Sky News reported.
During the video, the Hilton heiress is seen waving at the camera and talking to a friend on a mobile phone in between her escapades with Salomon.
Hilton initially insisted she was forced into making the film, but the company claims she actively participated in the video, helping to make it and, therefore, owns its copyright.
The company filed the papers as a means of rejecting a lawsuit filed by Salomon alleging breach of copyright for distributing the video.
Salomon's lawsuit also accuses his former roommate, Don Thrasher, of stealing, copying and selling the videotape to Marvad.
Salomon recently began selling the video on his own Web site.
