Homer Simpson gives 'Idol's' Simon his due

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- Homer Simpson gives an animated Simon Colwell his due, punching the nasty "Pop Idol" and "American Idol" judge on the U.S. television series Sunday.

Colwell, known for his harsh criticism on both British and U.S. talent shows, will guest star on the popular Fox series, London's Mirror reported Thursday.

As a nursery school officer, Colwell slams Maggie when she fails an "American Idol" type audition at the school.

When Maggie starts to cry, Homer punches Colwell in the face, shouting "That's my baby, you jerk!"

With a bruised nose, Colwell taunts Homer, saying "You call that a punch? I felt it, but it was like ... so what?"

Homer hits him harder, but Colwell remains unimpressed.

"Oh, again with the nose," Colwell said. "I have a chin you know!"

Homer lands the final punch to the chin, causing Colwell to fall, likely to the cheers of rejected "American Idol" and "Pop Idol" contestants everywhere.
