LOS ANGELES, Feb. 19 (UPI) -- "CSI" actor William Petersen says in the March Playboy he will leave the U.S. TV series when his contract expires because the CBS show's spinoffs anger him.

"I'll do 'CSI' until I legally don't have to do it anymore, which I think is at the end of next year," Petersen said in the upcoming issue of Playboy. "Right now, that's as long as I can foresee doing this show."

Petersen, who acts on and produces the top-rated drama, is mad that CBS executives have produced variations of the series in "CSI: Miami," and next fall's "CSI: New York." E! Online reported Thursday.

"CSI: Miami doesn't have our chemistry," Petersen said. "Taking a blueprint of something that was organically conceived and trying to synthesize it is the difference between organic chicken and chicken jerky. There's nothing I can do about that. That's Viacom, big American capitalism and ratings points."

Petersen, who is contracted to do the show through the 2006-07 season, currently receives $5.25 million per season for his acting and producing duties.
