Berlin film festival wraps up with awards

BERLIN, Feb. 14 (UPI) -- Judges at the prestigious Berlin Film Festival Saturday awarded the best actress prize to both Sandlino Moreno and Charlize Theron.

Moreno took her half for her role in "Maria Full of Grace" while Theron was acknowledged for her part in the film, "Monster," the BBC reported.

"Head On" took the Golden Bear for best film, becoming the first German film to win in Berlin since 1986.

Named best director was South Korean Kim Ki-duk for "Samaritan Girl" and actor Daniel Hendler took best actor honors for "Lost Embrace."

A total of 23 films were entered for competition during the nine-day festival.
