LOS ANGELES, Feb. 12 (UPI) -- Irish actor Liam Neeson is in final negotiations to co-star in the next "Batman" film, The Hollywood Reporter said Thursday.
It is unclear who the "Love Actually" and "Gangs of New York" star would play in the fifth installment of the lucrative "Batman" franchise.

Directed by "Memento" filmmaker Christopher Nolan, the film boasts a star-studded cast, including Britons Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman and Michael Caine as Wayne's butler, Alfred, Katie Holmes as Wayne's love interest and Cillian Murphy as the villainous Scarecrow.
Warner Brothers declined comment on Neeson's role.
