Former Sex Pistol is out of here

LONDON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Former Sex Pistol singer John Lydon has left the jungle set of the British version of "I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out of Here" after a profane outburst.

Lydon, who was one of seven remaining celebrity contestants on the ITV reality show, left the set in the middle of the night after hugging his fellow contestants, the Daily Telegraph reported Thursday.

Lydon's departure followed an outburst of profanity on live TV earlier in the evening when he learned he had not been evicted from the show.

Following dozens of complaints, ITV executives have imposed a time delay on the show to avoid similar incidents.

A spokesman for the 47-year-old rocker, formerly known as Johnny Rotten, said Lydon was "extremely sorry" for cursing on the show.

There has been no word on whether Lydon will return to the series.

Former footballer Neil "Razor" Ruddock, also favored to win, became the third contestant to be ousted from the camp during Wednesday's show.

The remaining stars in the third incarnation of the show, Lydon aside, are Kerry McFadden, 23, Jennie Bond, 53, Alex Best, 32, Peter Andre, 30, Lord Brocket, 52, and the model, known simply as Jordan, 25.
