AARP honors Bill Murray, Diane Keaton

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Hollywood actors Bill Murray and Diane Keaton and the film "Mystic River" have been awarded Golden Chair Awards for best portraying people and life over 50.

Each year, the AARP, once known as the American Association of Retired Persons, hands out its version of the Academy Awards, called La Chaise d'Or or The Golden Chair, recognizing films that address the concerns and dreams of people 50 and over, and represent an authentic image of the "second half of life," according to an article Monday at Zap2it.com.

Bill Murray, for his role in "Lost In Translation" and Diane Keaton, for her role in "Something's Gotta Give," earned golden lounge chair-shaped statues for the best actor, best actress honors.

"Mystic River" received a gold chair for best picture.

Other Golden Chair winners were Eugene Levy for best breakaway performance as a burnt out folk singer in "A Mighty Wind;" "Secondhand Lions" for best intergenerational film; and Jack Black's "School of Rock," for the best movie for grownups who refuse to grow up.

In addition to the trophy, winners will be featured in the March/April issue of AARP, the U.S. magazine with the largest circulation.
