Father of Jackson accuser files for visits

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- In another twist in the Michael Jackson alleged child abuse case in California, the estranged father of his accuser wants supervised visits with the boy.

The unnamed man pleaded no contest in 2002 to child cruelty, KABC reports, and spousal abuse in 2001. Following the mother's filing for divorce in 2001, the father has been been barred for two years from seeing his two sons and daughter.

His lawyer said he was worried about the well-being of his son who has battled cancer. In court papers he claimed his estranged wife "has allowed at least one of my children to spend evenings alone with a man, Michael Jackson, without supervision. My sons may have been the victim of a crime, that being child molestation."

Attorney Russell Halpern said, "Like any father, he's very, very concerned, and he wanted to talk to his child to find out what's going on."

Jackson has pleaded innocent.
