Faith Evans in drug arrest

ATLANTA, Jan. 28 (UPI) -- R & B singer Faith Evans, once married to slain rapper Notorious B.I.G., has been arrested in Georgia on drug charges.

CNN reports Evans and her husband-manager Todd Russaw were charged with possession of marijuana and cocaine, with Evans also charged with having an improper vehicle tag. They were arrested in Hapeville, south of Atlanta, near Hartsfield-Jackson airport.

The couple are being held in the Fulton County Jail and were scheduled to appear Wednesday before a judge.

Evans recently appeared in the film "The Fighting Temptations" with Cuba Gooding Jr. and Beyonce Knowles.

Her first husband, Notorious B.I.G., whose real name was Christopher Wallace, was shot and killed in 1997 while leaving a music industry party in Los Angeles, Calif.
