Oscar actor nominations announced

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif., Jan. 27 (UPI) -- Diane Keaton, Bill Murray, Sean Penn and Charlize Theron, fresh off winning Golden Globe Awards for acting, were nominated Tuesday for acting Oscars.

Keaton earned her Academy Award nomination for her part in "Something's Gotta Give." Theron's portrayal as a killer in "Monster" earned her the nomination.

Also nominated in the Best Actress category were: Keisha Castle-Hughes for "Whale Rider," Samantha Morton for "In America" and Naomi Watts for "21 Grams."

Murray was selected for his performance in "Lost in Translation." Penn's work in "Mystic River" earned him an Academy Award nomination.

Others nominated for Best Actor Oscars were: Johnny Depp for "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl," Ben Kingsley for "House of Sand and Fog" and Jude Law for "Cold Mountain."
