Kutcher, in Park City, Utah, for the premiere of his dramatic acting debut in "The Butterfly Effect," showed up Saturday at the screening dressed in full cowboy regalia, complete with white cowboy hat, neckerchief, jeans and shearling coat.
"Somebody lied to me," Kutcher told the 1,000-member audience. "They told me it was Sundance and I had to dress up like Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. Now I'm standing here like (a jerk)."
Kutcher was not as inappropriately dressed when Moore showed up soon thereafter wearing an identical coat.
While at Sundance, Kutcher has been seen going from party to party, skiing, playing XBox at the Village at the Lift, and hanging out at a mini-village catering to celebrities and A-list journalists.
"The Butterfly Effect" opens nationally Jan. 23.
