Lehane wowed by 'Mystic River' accents

NEW YORK, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- "Mystic River" author Dennis Lehane said in New York he was thrilled with the Boston accents the cast in the film version of his book assumed.

"I'm not kidding when I say I think the Boston accent has taken down more actors than 'Hamlet,'" he told reporters recently. "And these guys nailed it. ... Look at 'The Perfect Storm.' My God! There were accents in there that were so bad that Mark Wahlberg's accent started to slip -- and he's from there!"
