LOS ANGELES, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- CBS' hit series, "CSI," will take on New York City when the next spinoff of the forensic drama debuts in the fall, according to Friday's Hollywood Reporter.
"CSI: New York" currently is in the works as the third "CSI" franchise to hit the airwaves. The official announcement is expected on Saturday when CBS President Leslie Moonves addresses the Television Critics Association media tour in Hollywood.
Current "CSI" executive producers Anthony Zuiker, Ann Donahue and Carol Mendelsohn are expected to stay in place for the new series.
"CSI: New York" will join the original "CSI," prime time's most-watched series, and "CSI: Miami" on CBS's fall lineup.
