DES MOINES, Iowa, Jan. 12 (UPI) -- Rob Reiner and Martin Sheen will use their star power in Iowa this week to help Howard Dean's campaign for the Democratic presidential nomination.

Reiner and Sheen will spend Tuesday and Wednesday crisscrossing the state in advance of the Jan. 19 caucuses, hoping to drum up support for the former Vermont governor, Daily Variety reported Monday.

"This year Iowa is going to be more important than it has ever been," Reiner said. "If Dean wins Iowa, I think he's going to have a solid shot at the nomination. And if (Missouri Rep. Richard) Gephardt doesn't win Iowa, I think he's done."

The duo will hit the campuses of Morningside College in Sioux City, University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls and Iowa State in Ames on Tuesday, then spend Wednesday in Des Moines to help launch Dean's "People Powered Road Trip" bus tour.
