Two new roles for Heche

NEW YORK, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- Anne Heche will soon be seen in two very different projects: a serious family television drama and a Broadway comedy.

The "Wag the Dog" and "John Q" star will follow up her portrayal of a drug-addicted mother of four in the Lifetime Original Movie "Gracie's Choice" with a performance in Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of the comedy "Twentieth Century."

In the play, the 34-year-old actress will portray a chorus girl transformed into a leading lady by an egomaniacal Broadway director (Alec Baldwin.)

Previews of "Twentieth Century" begin next month, while "Gracie's Choice," co-starring Diane Ladd and Kristen Bell, is set to air on Lifetime Jan. 12.

Hailed in 2002 for her performance in Broadway's "Proof," Heche has kept a relatively low profile since her very public breakup with girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres and subsequent breakdown in 2000.

Married with a two-year-old son, Heche also has several feature films in the works.
