No season 7 for 'Sopranos'

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 9 (UPI) -- "The Sopranos" creator David Chase and star James Gandolfini have confirmed the mob drama's sixth season will be its last.

Talking to the Television Critics Association Thursday, Chase said his saga of a North Jersey mob family will continue this spring with a 13-episode fifth season and conclude with a 10-installment sixth season that will go into production next year.

Asked if fans could expect a "Sopranos" movie, Chase remarked: "I think this last 10 episodes will be that movie. That's the plan."

"The Sopranos" family also revealed that Steve Buscemi will join the cast as Tony (Gandolfini)'s ex-con cousin, while Carmela (Edie Falco)'s love interest, Furio, will not come back from Italy for her.
