AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- Willie Nelson has joined a number of other prominent U.S. anti-war musicians with a ballad called "Whatever Happened to Peace on Earth."
Nelson will debut the newly written song Saturday at an Austin fund-raising concert for Democratic presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich.
Nelson, who wrote the song on Christmas Day, as reported Wednesday by countrynation.com, for the Ohio Congressman's campaign at Austin Music Hall.
Titled "Whatever Happened to Peace On Earth," the song asks the question "How much oil is a human life worth?"
The veteran entertainer also plans to record the song in Nashville during the next week to rush-release it to country radio stations.
Nelson will perform as part of a New Year's Eve concert Wednesday in Nashville along with Toby Keith and Blake Shelton.
